Ann M. Byrd

Ann M. Byrd, age 67 of Massillon, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2013 surrounded by her family. She was born in Massillon on July 25, 1946 and was the daughter of the late William and Kathryn (Marks) Emery. Ann graduated from Washington High School and earned her bachelor's degree from Capital University. She recently retired from Franklin Elementary School where she taught kindergarten. She was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. She is survived by her children, Michelle (Eric) Knorr, Mike Byrd, Amanda (Eric) Manson and Matt Byrd, 9 grandchildren, Jacob, Hannah, Lily and Emery Rose Knorr and Blake, Meghan, Morgan, Parker and Brady Manson. Also surviving are her sister Jane Sima and her brother William (Jeannie) Emery. A service to celebrate her life will take place on Wednesday at 10:30 A.M. at Faith Lutheran Church with Pastor Elaina Styblo officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Burial Park. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5-8 P.M. and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00-10:30 PM.
