Angelyna Callahan

Angelyna Callahan born May 10th, 2001, became one of God's angels on Friday, December 23, 2016. Hours after being baptized by her grandfather Jeff Cale and surrounded by her family and friends. She passed away comfortably and peacefully in her mothers arms, after a courageous 7 month battle with cancer. Angelyna was a sophomore at Perry High School. Prior to her illness, which was diagnosed on her 15th birthday, she had planned on being in the culinary program at the high school. She had been an honor roll student since kindergarten. She was a very bright child and an extremely smart young lady. She loved learning about almost everything especially cooking and baking, which she was very good at, having learned at a very young age, but she also loved animals, nature and the outdoors. She is survived by her mother Jessica Callahan, brothers, Jayson and Austin Cale, maternal grandmother, Lynn Clark, maternal grandfather, John Callahan, paternal grandparents, Jeff and Jan Cale and great-grandfather, Dean Cale. Also surviving her are several aunts and uncles, Michael Callahan, Bud Clark, Todd and Jenny Stein, Robin Thomas, "Ant Ang" Angelyna Westrich who is also her godmother, as well as a very special person who has been at part of her life since the age of six months that she always considered as her father, Jeremy D. Cale, her cousins, Johnathan and Jadyen Myers, Danielle Callahan Thomas, Collin and Camren Stein. Along with Danielle Thomas, she also leaves her best friends Megan Reesey and Sidney Noturno. Lastly, Angelyna will be remembered by her very caring and supportive boyfriend Jon Boughman and numerous other friends. She was preceded in death by her great-grandmothers, Phyllis Clark and Jeanette Callahan. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. and on Friday one hour before the service. The funeral will be on Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Paquelet & Arnold Lynch Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Richville Cemetery.
