Angela “Angie” J. Amendola, 54, of Massillon, passed away unexpectedly at her home on December 12, 2021. She was born in Canton on July 15, 1967 to the late James and Josie (Copp) Amendola. She was a 1985 graduate of Central Catholic and then furthered her education to become an LPN. Her care and compassion for others made her an excellent nurse and eventually led her to her current position as the director of Heart and Home Health Care which she has passionately done for over 15 years. Her coworkers would agree that Angie was the glue that held the place together. Angie was not only loyal to her career but was also a faithful servant of her church, New Life Tabernacle. When she wasn’t do things for others, Angie enjoyed spending much of her time with James Blakeney, Sr., her loving, significant other. They worked together as a team, making sure each other were taken care of and always looking out for one another. Their dedication between the two of them created an unbreakable relationship that they both lovingly committed to for 18 years. Angie will be deeply missed by James; her brothers Phil (Fran) Amendola and Albert “Skip” (Jeannie) Hastings, friend Emily Gross as well as all her other beloved co-workers; lifelong friend Amy Maserelli; special cousin Kathy Wilson; sister-in-law Pat Hastings; as well as a hosts of many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Angie was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Hastings. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 20th from 5-7 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. A memorial service will begin at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Keith Blaylock officiating.
