Andrew "Andy" Halco, 99, of Massillon, passed away on December 13, 2022 at Mercy Cleveland Clinic. He was born on February 28, 1923 to the late Michael and Susan (Jurco) Halco in Massillon, OH. He attended Washington High School. He married Rita Allman on May 10, 1947 and they shared 73 years together until her passing in 2020.
Andy worked at and retired from Ohio Edison after 32 years of service. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards, feeding his birds and squirrels and watching his Massillon Tigers and Cincinnati Bengals. He was a 75 year member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Massillon and a lifetime Massillon Tigers season ticket holder. He was a guy who would give you the shirt off his back and worked several jobs to take care of his family. Andy's family was his pride and joy. He will forever be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.
Andrew is survived by his children David A. Halco, Kathy A. Dunnerstick, Jayne M. Robert) Davis, and Shari E. (Paul) James; his grandchildren Robert M. (Kim) Davis, Kara A. (Eric) Beamish, Matthew R. (Dafnie) Dunnerstick, Ryan P. Dunnerstick, Ashley E. Dunnerstick, Kyle D. James; his great-grandchildren, Cole R. Davis, Meghan O. Davis, Olivia A. Beamish, Parker J. Beamish, Savannah G. Beamish, Connor M. Beamish and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, Andy was preceded in death by his 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Massillon on Monday, December 19, 2022, at 10:30 am. The Very Reverend Canon Dr. Matthew Mankowski officiating. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Sunday, December 18, 2022 from 2-4 p.m. and from 9:15-10:15a.m. on Monday, December 19, 2022 at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family would like to give special thanks to Trisha Williams and Janet Rankl for taking such great care of our Dad.
