Amaryllis "Amy" R. Whitehouse

Amaryllis "Amy" R. Whitehouse, 98, of Massillon, Ohio, passed away on February 21, 2025. She was born on October 11, 1926 to the late Myrtle and Charles McNamara. 

Amy loved to paint, she was a wonderful artist. She was the oldest member of First Baptist Church, where she had been attending for over 70 years. Amy was also a Girl Scout Leader, a member of the Massillon Museum and a member of the Women's Club. Amy also enjoyed ballroom dancing and traveling to new places. Above all, Amy's greatest love was her large family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond Denton who passed in 1969; second husband, Aaron Whitehouse, who passed in 2006; son, R. Scott Denton, who passed in 2021; and three of her brothers.

Amy is survived by her loving daughters, Jan (Bob) Slone, JuDee (Gary) Reed, and Jeanine Denton, all of Massillon; step-daughter, Janice Whitehouse of Florida; brother, Larry (Tommye) McNamara, of Arkansas; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, Friday, February 28, 2025 at First Baptist Church, 20 6th St SE, Massillon, Ohio. A funeral service will begin at 12:00pm at the church.
