Alma R. “Pete” Williams, age 82 of Massillon, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2011. Alma was born on October 5, 1928 in Massillon, the daughter of the late Henry and Margaret (Meuhlen) Romer. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Gerry Rohr and Gloria Stockert. Alma was a lifelong resident of Massillon and a 1946 graduate of Washington High School where she played in the band. She was employed at Massillon Republic Steel and later employed at Massillon Plaque as a graphic artist, retiring in 1988 after 19 years. Alma was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Quilting Ladies, Christian Mothers - Altar Rosary Confraternity. She enjoyed following her grandchildren’s activities, her flower gardens, and caring for all God’s creatures. Alma is survived by her husband Sam C. Williams who she married on November 6, 1948. She is also survived by their children Jan (John) Keating of Minerva, Wende (Pat) Nodo of Jackson Twp., and Robyn (Don) Crawford of Nova, Ohio; their grandchildren Eric (Jessica) Keating, Erin (Brent) Walters, Michael Nodo, Heather Keating, and Lindsey Nodo; their great-grandchildren Megan and Autumn Keating, and Blake Walters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2011at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Massillon with Fr. Raymond Paul officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
