Alice 'Nana' G. Sipe

November 2, 1928 — January 27, 2009

Alice “Nana” G. Sipe age 80 of Massillon formerly of Greensboro NC, passed away Tuesday morning at Mercy Medical Center. She was born on November 2, 1928 in New Bedford, MA to the late Jacintho and Mary (Perreira) Gonsalves. Alice had worked for Motor Carriers Traffic Association in the clerical department. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and was a homemaker and caretaker to her special grandson, Michael. Alice was of the Catholic faith. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Albert and Joseph Gonsalves; sister Eva Almeida. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Cathy Coffer of Brown Summit, NC and Janice (Stan) Farson of Massillon; son and daughter-in-law, Joe (Nancy) Sipe of Colfax, NC; sisters, Lizzie Stefanik of New Bedford, MA and Rosie Gaspar of California; grandchildren, Michael Sipe, Tyler Blakely and Jessica Coffer; step grandchildren, Dan and Mandy Farson; great grandson, Christian Truitt and a special friend and companion for 30 years, Jerry Moffitt. Funeral services celebrating Alice’s life will be held Thursday at 2:00 PM at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home in Massillon with Fr. Thomas Bishop officiating. Calling hours will be one hour prior to the services. Entombment will take place at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens following the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Autism Society of America 7910 Woodmont Ave., Suite 300, Bethesda, MD 20814-3067.
