Alfred Richard Frank, born August 29, 1928 passed away peacefully on Holy Thursday night March 24th , 2016 at Mercy Medical Center. His legacy will continue through the many people whom he touched during his life. He is preceded in death by his parents Ellis and Katherine Frank, his brothers, Thomas and Donald, his sister Jean, son, Kevin, and grandson Nicholas Mase. He is survived by the love of his life, wife Pearl Fuchs of 64 years, whom he married at St. Peters on July 4, 1951, their 8 children Theresa (Richard) Jusseaume, Rose (Donald) Giarrana, Michael (Julie) Frank, Regina (late Douglas 2013) Parnell, Steve Frank, Patrick (Janice) Frank, Greg (Laura) Frank, Cheryl Frank Mase, and daughter in law Christine Frank. They have thirty-five grandchildren and thirty-three great grandchildren with five more on the way. Surviving family also includes his siblings; Joan Frank, Donna (Arden) Gill, Marilyn (Walter) Eckroate, and David (Nancy) Frank. Al, "Chief" graduated from Jackson High School and served on the front lines in the Korean War in the Army. He loved his faith, family and church. He served as a strong leader at St. Clement/Holy Family Parish in Navarre. He served as an usher, Sunday school teacher, coach, fundraiser, PTA President, Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Athletic Director and officer in the parish Men's Club . Al founded St. Clement / K of C softball teams and led them from the pitcher's mound for four decades to many championships. He became a charter member of the new council in Navarre-Brewster Msgr. Boeff Council #5582. Al stepped up once again in leadership to help found the local Legatus organization. Forty six years ago, Al, along with his brothers Tom and Don and his sister Joan, became the founding officers of Graphic Enterprise Incorporated where Al served as Treasurer, CFO, and COO from its founding up through the mid 90's. Al touched many employees' lives through the years and affectionately welcomed new employees to the "Graphic Family". Al championed legal protection of the unborn through the Right to Life movement. He was an invaluable volunteer for nine years advising the Right To Life of Northeast Ohio's board, and was an active participant in the Forty Day for Life here in Stark county. He supported the Pro-Life Youth Congress, and sponsored countless dinners and raffles. It was his family that he most treasured, sponsoring yearly family reunions, enjoying holidays and Sunday fellowship. He always made time for grandchildren's birthdays, sacraments, and sporting events. He most desired our faith to be first in our lives. During his suffering he kept repeating the prayers of the Hail Mary and the Our Father. He also liked the prayers :"God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and Wisdom to know the difference" and "Angel of God my guardian dear to whom God's love commits me here, ever this day be at my side, to light, to guard, to rule and to guide. Amen The family sincerely thanks the 7th floor nursing staff for their wonderful care during his 24 days at Mercy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM Tuesday at St. Clements Catholic Church in Navarre, his pastor, Fr. Michael Seifert will be officiating. Burial will follow at St. Clements Cemetery.
