Alex B. Tasseff, 89, passed away on January 30, 2017, following an extended illness. He was born in Macedonia on March 1, 1927 to the late Blage and Evangelina (Kostich) Tasseff. Alex was a graduate of Washington High School, Class of 1946. He was a kind, generous and loving man. He was dedicated to his family. He loved to tell jokes, polka dance and bowl. Alex retired from Republic Steel. He attended the United Church of God, Akron. He is survived by his wife, Betty Jane (Reed) Tasseff, whom he married on May 31, 1969; children, Russell (Mary Ann) Poling of Massillon, Dennis Poling and Janet (William) Gibson all of Burton City; sister, Helen Woolley of Jackson Twp.: and brother, John (Shirley) Tasseff of Navarre; eleven grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; eleven great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his son, Robert Poling; and two brothers, Tom and Anastas Tasseff. Friends may call at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Saturday, February 4, 2017 from 9:30am-10:30am with a funeral service to follow at 10:30am. Burial will follow in Massillon Cemetery.
