Alese Flaherty

Alese Marie Flaherty, 68, went home to dance with Jesus on February 11, 2009. Alese was born June 13, 1940 in Akron to the late Willard and Mary Merriner. In 1979 she and her husband Richard moved to Florida. Alese was a devoted Christian and a member of Faith Family Church in Canton. She was a member of various support groups. She is survived by daughters Bonnie Hartman, Vicki Davis, Lisa Simcoe, Lori Hardy, Lisa Ethridge, Hope Caiazza, and Michelle Curran; 15 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers Wayne, Gary, John, and Bill Merriner; sister Elaine Turnmire. Alese was preceded in death by her husband Richard M. Flaherty whom she shared 23 years of marriage, and sister Dolly Watkins. Calling hours will be Thursday from 6-8 P.M. at Paquelet Funeral 1100 Wales Rd. NE. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home followed by burial at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman. The Reverend Nan Taylor will officiate.
