Alberta B. Chavers

April 21, 1941 — June 25, 2011

Alberta B. Chavers was born April 21, 1941 in Athens, Georgia, the daughter of Isaac and Jimmy Lou (McRay) Elder. Alberta was a retired data processor with the Inglewood Unified School District. On Saturday, June 25, 2011, Alberta was transported from earth to glory to be with the Lord. Alberta was blessed with six surviving children, Lloyd D. Chavers, III, Charles C. Chavers, Lanita M. Chavers, Tanya M. (Chavers) Baudoin, Annjanette Chavers and Sean C. Simpson all of Los Angeles, California. Alberta will always be thought of with love and fond memories by her sixteen grandchildren, Brandon and Corey Chavers, Charles Jr. and Crystal Chaers, Ashley and Lakeisha Chavers and Rechard Becnel, Tiana and Terry Baudoin, Calvin Carter, Kiara Chavers, Summer and Terence Williams, Jasmine, Leilyni and Delance Simpson; and four great grandchildren, Marquise Villahermosa, Keeshon Chavers, Jacob Chavers and Amaya Blackshire. Alberta is survived by sister, Shirley Alexander of Detroit, Michigan and brothers, Carlton and Vernon Elder of Massillon, Ohio. Alberta was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Doris “Tensey” Elder, Willie Maude Mapp and Louise Trammell; brothers, Isaac Elder, Cornelius “Bobby” Elder and James “Bo-Bo” Elder. Alberta will be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, co-workers and friends. Funeral Services will be held Friday at 1:00 P.M. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Friends may call Friday from 12:00 to 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Her final resting place will be in Massillon Cemetery. Messages of support and comfort may be sent to www.paquelet.com.
