Albert Prazniak

Albert Prazniak, 96, passed on Tuesday, November 23, 2021. Al was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who deeply loved his family. He was born on February 13, 1925 and raised in Massillon. He was a proud 1942 graduate of Washington High School. He married the love of his life, Patricia (née Smith) in 1951. His life was really a wonderful adventure that included US Navy WWII service, degrees from Mount Union College and Kent State University, a relocation to NY for his young family, forty years as an educator, and high school football coach. After retirement in the early 1980’s, he and Pat moved back “home” to Canton. Al loved his church, golf, gardening, and football. Pat would tell you that his heart was shaped like a football. Al and Pat recently celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary with a large family gathering. In addition to Pat, Al is survived by his 5 children, Jill (Bill) FitzSimmons, Lori Morrison, Mark (Tina) Prazniak, Jane (Bob) Harper and David Prazniak, his brother John (Jo) Prazniak, 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 10am-11am Saturday, December 4, 2021at St. John Lutheran Church 1900 Wales Rd.
