Ada Mae Rowland, 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Thursday, August 1, 2013 at the Laurels of Massillon. She was born on February 13, 1924 in Roanoke, AL to the late Solomon and Marietta Lane. Ada was a devoted member of the United Pentecostal Church of God; it was the foundation of her life. Ada enjoyed cooking and entertaining family and friends. She had worked many years at the Massillon State Hospital and then did private duty housekeeping in the area until her retirement in 2003. She also loved to volunteer at the Salvation Army as a Bell Ringer. Ada is survived by her four children, Mary Ann (Lawrence, Sr.) Whitney of Spring Valley, CA, Kathy Miller of Massillon, Herman (Annette) Felton of Cleveland and Jeffery Rowland of Canton, seven grandchildren, Tammy (Larry) Green, Lawrence (Bridgettee) Whitney, Jr., Deborah Whitney, Kevin Miller, Greg Hatchett, Terran Burns and Jeffery Earl, Jr. , five great-grandchildren, a special niece, Elena Simpson and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Oretha Rowland, Nell Dunson and her brothers, Mack Lane and Roy Lane. Friends may call from 10:00AM -11:00AM on Friday, August 9, 2013 at the Paquelet Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday in the Paquelet Funeral Home, burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Pastor Thelma Hatchett, Officiating.
