Aaron Raun Whitehouse, 82 of Massillon, died Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at Massillon Community Hospital. Born in Canton on March 29, 1924, he was the son of the late Herbert C. & Margaret R. (Wilbert) Whitehouse. He was a lifelong area resident. He served as a sergeant in WWII from 1943 to 1946, in France and Germany with the 42nd Calvary Recon. Sqd: 3rd Army D-troop Infantry. He was employed by Republic Stamping and Enameling (Ecko Products) in Canton from 1940 to 1943, and again after his military service from 1946 to 1954. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service, in Canton in 1985 after 33 years of service. He also was a bus driver for the Perry Local Schools. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Massillon and the Senior Saints Choir. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Herbert A. and James C. Whitehouse. He is survived by his wife Amy, his daughter Janice R. Whitehouse of Winter Springs, FL, and his step children and spouses, Jan & Bob Slone and JuDee & Gary Reed of Massillon, Jeanine & Greg Hartman of PA, and Scott & Anna Denton of Indiana, 16 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, his brother Tom Whitehouse of Canton and his sister Dorothy McDonald of Massillon and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church with Dr. Roger Alber officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Thursday from 6-8:30 P.M. and on Friday at the church one hour before the service.
