Willis M. Haughton, age 89 passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Aultman Hospital. He was born on May 16, 1922 in Van Voorhis, PA and was the son of the late William W. and Olive Mae (Weaver) Haughton. He was a veteran of WWII, serving with the U.S. Army from 1942-1946 in the 66th Division. Willis owned and operated the former Haughton's Auto Service and retired from the automotive department with J.C. Penney. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the Panther Veteran Organization, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Tadmor Shrine, Washington Council No. Royal and Select Masons, Jacques de Molay Commandery No. 3, Knights Templar, Sunset Lodge #3 F. & A.M.and the Scottish Rite, Valley of Canton. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie, his daughter Janice Stitz and his brother James Haughton and his wife Helen. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Mike Swanson, son-in-law, Dale Stitz, grandchildren, Amy (Jon) Doerrer, Jeff Stitz, Mark Stitz, Ryan, Scott and Craig Swanson, his brother Wilson (Gloria) Haughton, his sister, Fern (Bill) Santel and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Monday at 1:30 PM at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home with Dr. William Harvey officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Burial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service. The Clinton Lodge #47 F.&A.M. will hold a Masonic Service at the funeral home on Monday at 12:00 Noon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either Trinity United Methodist Church, 3757 Lincoln Way East, Massillon, OH 44646 or the Compassionate Care Center, 2821 Woodlawn NW, Canton, OH 44708.
