Willard L. Hodgson

Willard 'Wid' L. Hodgson, age 66 of Lawrence Township, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Affinity Hospital following a lengthy illness. Willard was born on July 18, 1945 in Massillon the son of the late John S. and Jeannette F. (Bender) Hodgson. He was a lifelong resident of Lawrence Township. Wid was a United States National Guard veteran. He worked for Republic Steel for 35 years before retiring in 1998. Wid enjoyed restoring vehicles at Trumpy's Garage in North Lawrence. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren and his family in general. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his grandson, Dakota Berg, his brother, John Hodgson and his sister, Joan Hodgson. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Rosalie (Santabarbara) Hodgson with whom he shared 28 years of marriage; his children, Darren Hodgson, Lisa (Jeff) Berg, Don (Nancy) Hodgson, and Carrie (Arron) Piggott; his grandchildren, Brandon Carter, Marcus Hodgson, Kloee Piggott, Kadance Piggott and Katelin Berg; and his brother William (Reba) Hodgson. A Celebration of Wid's Life will be held on Friday, March 30, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home. Pastor Mark Self will be officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5-8 P.M. and one hour prior to the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family to cover expenses.
