Wayne P. Yingling, age 79 of Jackson Twp., passed away on June 20, 2022. He was born on November 27, 1942 to the late Alfred and Dorothy (Rohr) in Massillon, OH. He was a 1960 graduate of Central Catholic High School and 1964 graduate of Ohio State. Wayne married Patricia McAfee on November 08, 2003. He was previously married to Barbara Dupree until her death on June 25, 2002. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as a 1st Lieutenant in Joliet, Illinois. Wayne retired as Plant Manager from Goodyear after 37 years of service. He enjoyed gardening and square dancing. He volunteered with wife Patricia for Meals on Wheels, completing tax returns for the AARP Tax Program for Seniors, and served as a Eucharistic Minister at Affinity Medical Center. Wayne was known as a kind and generous person. He will forever be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; his sons Steve, Mark (Teri), and Craig (Deborah); his step-children Karla (Jeffrey) Holland and Kevin (Samantha) McAfee; 11 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and his sister-in-law Ann Harty. In addition to his parents and first wife, Wayne was preceded in death by his brother Ronald Yingling. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 24, 2022 at 10a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Fr. Benson Okpara will be officiating. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Thursday, June 23, 2022 from 4-7p.m. Burial will be at Rose Hill Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Meals on Wheels and the Akron-Canton Foodbank.
