Thomas G. Sibila, 89, of Massillon, passed away on March 5, 2017 following a brief illness. He was born in Massillon on March 17, 1927 to the late Orlando F. and Mary I. (Rohr) Sibila. Thomas was a graduate of Washington High School, Class of 1945 and a veteran of the United States Army. He used to own and operate Sibby's Sports Shop and Grill until 1964 and then went to work at Fleming Foods retiring in 1989. He was an avid fisherman, competing in Accuracy Casting Tournaments, hunting, running Field Trial Beagles, golfing and a baseball fan. He was dedicated to his family and loved involving them in all his activities. He was a member of St. Barbara's Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Kulla) Sibila, whom he married on October 6, 1951; their children, Debra A. (Richard) Miller of Salineville, Mike (Jane) Sibila of Lisbon and Jennifer (Daniel) Maier of Massillon; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Thursday, March 9, 2017 from 6:00pm-8:00pm and at St. Barbara's Catholic Church on Friday from 9:00 am -10:00am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by Fr. Brian Cline at St. Barbara's Catholic Church on Friday, March 10, 2017 at 10:00am. Burial will follow in Brookfield Cemetery.
