Theodore W. Roehlig

Theodore W. Roehlig, 71, passed away on August 17, 2018. He was born in Massillon to the late Theodore and Blanche (Simon) Roehlig on July 30, 1947. Ted was a graduate of Washington High School, Class of 1965. He served honorably in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Kent State University, was a Licensed Social Worker, and received his Masters of Social Science Administration from Case Western Reserve University. Ted retired from the Summit County Department of Human Services. He was a member of the Massillon Eagles, Amvets and Disabled American Veterans. Ted loved to travel, garden, read and discuss politics. He was dedicated to his family and taught his grandchildren how to swim and loved to spend time floating in and caring for the pool. He is survived by his wife, Camille (Caracillo) Roehlig, whom he married on August 14, 1971; their daughters, Amy (Mike) Dornack of Green and Elizabeth Roehlig of Canton; grandchildren, Karmella and Michael; a sister, Nancy Pretzie; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ted was also preceded in death by his two sisters, Kate Turkalj and Eva Gallagher. Friends may gather at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Friday, August 24, 2018 from 5pm-7pm. A Celebration of Ted’s Life will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 11am in the funeral home. Inurnment will be private at St. Joseph Cemetery.
