Susan "Susie" K. Gibbons of Massillon - After six months of tests and cancer fighting procedures, God wrapped his arms around Susie (Clasper) Gibbons and said, "Come and take your rest". Susie died September 03, 2019; she was 71 years old. Susie married Jim Gibbons in June 1972, and they shared 37 years together before his death in 2009. She is also preceded in death by her parents John and Gertrude (Boots) Clasper and her older sister Carol Clasper Heimann. Susie lived most of her life in Massillon graduating from Massillon-Washington High School in 1965. She worked for Ohio Power/AEP for over 35 years, retiring in 2005. Susie was a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church, serving as a sacristan for many years. She was loved by many including her nieces Kim Mitchell and Stacie(John) Brenner, Great niece and nephew Mackenzie and Camden Brenner, brother-in-law Pete Heimann, sisters-in-law Tisha Leete and Janet Monaco and many other nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by a great group of friends and the ladies from "the circle". The family thanks the eighth floor hospice/oncology nurses at Mercy Medical Center for their care, compassion and love during Aunt Susie's last week. The family also thanks Drs. Chow, Boone, Grabowski and Rafique, and their staffs. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 07, 2019 at 11 a.m. at St. Barbara Catholic Church in Massillon. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:30am until the time of the service.
