Steven Dale Merry

Steven Dale Merry of Navarre, passed away on August 6, 2021. He was born in Canton, Ohio on May 21, 1954 to Mary (Schehl) Merry and the late Dale Merry. He married his wife Vicki on April 16, 2003. Steve graduated from Canton Central Catholic High School and successfully completed his apprenticeship at the Timken Company, from which he retired after 30 years. Steve co-owned Culp-Myers Awning Company with his wife, Vicki and farmed after retirement from Timken. While on the topic of farming, it should be especially noted that Steve truly enjoyed working on his property. He devoted the last 32 years of his life to lovingly restoring and improving his farmhouse and surrounding property. This allowed him to combine his passion for working with his hands with his zeal for the outdoors. He enjoyed showing off his vegetable garden as much as he relished the fresh sweet corn he harvested from it. Steve was also an avid canoer and enjoyed going on cruises. He shared all of his loves with his family. Steve is deeply missed by his wife, also his children, Michael (Jodi Reimer) Merry, Denise Merry, Cassandra Merry, Chelsea (Kevin) Clark, Callie (Trevor Shaw) Merry, Ashley (Percy) McGhee, and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother, Mary, sister, Gail (John Glenn) Merry, and brother, Tom (Lisa) Merry. He is preceded in death by his son, Stephen and his father, Dale Merry. It must also be said that Steve is survived by his beloved dog of 14 years, Dan, who was of course just nearby right to the end. Friends and family may come to call on Saturday, August 14, 2021 from 10 am to 12 p.m. at Paquelet Funeral Home. A luncheon will follow after the gathering.
