Sherry Lynn Wagner, 62, of Jackson Township, passed away after an extended illness, on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at her home. Sherry was born on May 17, 1954 in Alva, Oklahoma to Paul and Nora (Schmidt) Palmer. She married Doug Wagner on August 19, 1971 in Alva, Oklahoma. They shared 45 loving years together. Sherry was known for her heart of gold and her compassion to always help others. She was a member of Faith Community Fellowship in Massillon, where she served and assisted with the children's program, OWANA. Sherry was a strong believer in God and her faith in Jesus Christ. She showed her love for the Lord, by being a teacher and superintendent for Sunday School at St. John's United Church of Christ. She also worked at Make-A-Way, volunteering her time to help others, Polsky's as a sales representative, and the Launching Pad Daycare as a teacher, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Sherry was also a Girl Scout leader for post #139, loved to sing, cook, and throw parties for her friends and family. Sherry's greatest passion in life, though, was being a wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Sherry will be deeply missed by her husband, Doug; mother, Nora Palmer; daughter, Dorothy "Elizabeth" (Steve) Shankle; granddaughter, Madison Shankle; brother-in-law, Walt (Barbara) Wagner; nieces, Faith (Brian) Honaker and Hope Wagner; great-nieces, Grace and Hannah; great-nephew, Elijah. Sherry was preceded in death by her father, Paul, father-in-law, Donald Wagner, mother-in-law, Winifred Wagner. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 3, 2017 from 1-2 pm at the Faith Community Fellowship in Massillon. Memorial Services will follow at 2pm with Pastor Mike Kager and Pastor Dave Kimberly officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration (AFTD), Radnor Station Building #2, suite 320, 290 King of Prussia Road, Radnor, PA 19087.
