Ronald F. Harper, 88, of Massillon, passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022. Ron was born on February 4, 1934, in Birch River, WV, the son of the late Manuel Wesley and Minnie B. (Butcher) Harper. He was a proud United States Army veteran. Ron worked for Republic Steel (Enduro) and retired after more than 38 years of service. He loved fishing, camping, traveling, working on cars, and playing Texas Hold’em. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Lula Bell, and 7 siblings. He is survived by his children, Ronald Harper, Leroy (Sharon) Harper, and Vanessa (Tim) Ensminger; nine grandchildren, Jeremy, Timmy, Tonya, Joey, Wesley, Ronnie, Ethan, Joel, and Julie; 6 great-grandchildren; and brother, Leonard (Betty) Harper; and his best canine buddies, Bob, and Jack. A Celebration of Ron’s life will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at 1 p.m. at Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Brookfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Stark County Humane Society.
