Richard Thomas

Richard Thomas, age 84 of Canton, died on Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at the Laurels of Massillon. He was born on April 1, 1924 near Byesville, Ohio and was the son of the late William and Catherine (John) Thomas. He was employed by the Hercules Motor Company. He enjoyed taking his mother for rides in his large automobiles. He was a longtime member of Church of the Savior in Canton and had attended the Canton Baptist Temple. He is survived by his sister Edith Thomas Brislen of Canton, and seven nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Anthony, James, Mervin and William Thomas. Richard was a devoted son to his mother Catherine. A memorial service will take place at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home in Massillon on Tuesday, February 24th at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Rick Burkhardt officiating. Interment of his cremated remains will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Byesville, Ohio at a later date.
