Richard G. Colaner, 84 of Navarre, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Altercare of Navarre with his family at his side. He was born on August 22, 1930 in Navarre and was the son of the late George and Hilda (Crecco) Colaner. After graduating from the former Navarre High School in 1948, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving his country during the Korean Conflict. He then went on to work at Nickles Bakery where he was a retail deliverer. In the late 1950's he purchased the local hardware store. He ran the store until 1978 when he retired. He and his wife enjoyed traveling to their home in Florida each winter. He was a member of Holy Family Parish in Navarre and the American Legion Post 221. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Helen J. (Harrold ) Colaner, his children and their spouses, Donna Willis and her husband Donald, Gregory Colaner and his wife Tammy, Debra Borell and her husband Mark and Darlene Brumme and her husband Raymond, 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters, Gloria Griffith-McVay and Shirley Severini. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. at Holy Family Parish with Fr. Michael Seifert officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon from 6-8 P.M. Paquelet Funeral Home and Crematory 330-833-3222
