Richard F. Shannon

Richard F. Shannon, age 86 of Jackson Twp passed away September 22, 2013 at his residence. Dick was born July 19, 1927 in Massillon to the late Solomon & Mary (Saba) Shannon. He was a 1945 graduate of Washington High School. Dick served with the Army in the Korean Conflict and received an honorable discharge. In 2007 he retired from TK Harris Real Estate Agency after 20 years of service. An avid Tiger Fan, he loved the Tigers. He was a life member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where he served for many years as an usher at the 11 AM Mass. He also belonged to K of C #554. He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers: Rose Elum,& Ida Hunt, William Shannon and David Shannon. Dick is survived by his wife of 56 years, Barbara (Maple) Shannon; they have two children Diana Rechkemmer and Richie Shannon. He also has a brother, Phil Shannon and two grandsons: Damien Rechkemmer and Zac Faas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
