Richard B. Urban

Richard B. Urban, age 76 of Massillon, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2011 at Aultman Hospital. He was born on August 3, 1934 in Massillon and was the son of the late Paul and Ruth (Sprankle) Urban. Dick was a veteran of both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army. He worked at Superior Meats, retiring in 1972. He enjoyed bow hunting, cooking and wood crafting. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his great grandchildren. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sally Plott and his brother Paul Urban. He is survived by his wife, Mary (Stahl) Urban, whom he married on March 2, 1957, his daughters, Tamyra (Scott) Novak, Teresa Malcuit, Toni Whittington and Traci (Darryl) Selogy, his grandchildren, Jered and Kyle Novak, Lindsay Unklesby, Josh Urban and Brandi McDole, and Nick and Jessica Selogy, 10 great grandchildren, his sisters, Betty Pittman and Sharon Fenstermaker and his brother, Jack Urban. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 11, 2011 at 11:00 A.M at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Chip Belanga officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Thursday from 5-8 P.M. and at the church one hour before the service on Friday.
