Phyllis J. Burkett

Phyllis J. Burkett, 83, of Massillon, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Affinity Medical Center. She was born October 27, 1929 in Massillon. Phyllis was an avid reader, card player, bowler, a Cleveland Indians fan, loved to travel, and most of all enjoyed spending time with her family. She graduated from Washington High School in 1947 and worked for The Kroger Company and Fishers Foods until she stopped working to raise her family. Phyllis is survived by her two daughters, Cherie (Tom) Burkett, of Massillon, Michelle (Charles) Moore II of Massillon, and three sons, Dennis (Renee) Stitt of Massillon, Greg (Jana) Stitt of Massillon and Robert P. (Toni ) Burkett, Jr. of Canton, eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, brother, Bill (Joan) Williams of Canton, and numerous special nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband Robert P. Burkett, Sr., her father and mother, John H. & Lavina Williams, and a brother , John "Jack" Williams. Friends may gather at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Sunday September 8, 2013 from 2:00 PM -5:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 9, 2013 at 10:30 AM, Kevin O'Brien, Officiating, burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park.
