Paul J. Anderson, 87 of Jackson Township, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 19, 2014 at his residence. Paul was born in Terril, IA on September 12, 1927 the son of the late Frank and Esther (Paulsen) Anderson. On July 9, 1950 Paul married the love of his life Vera Jane Delaney. Together they shared 62 years of marriage and lovingly raised their four children. Vera passed away in April, 2012. Paul was a U.S. Army veteran. He worked for Goodyear as a National Accounts Sales Manager, retiring in 1988 after 40 years of service. Paul was a member of St. John Lutheran Church for over 30 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Paul was an outstanding high school and college athlete, and remained an avid sports fan his entire life. Along with his parents and wife he was preceded in death by granddaughter, Katie Sustad, brothers, Donald and Frank Anderson, and his sister Ruth Cook. He is survived by two sons, Mark (Debbie) Anderson of Wadsworth, Scott Anderson of Dublin, OH; two daughters, Debbie (Skip) Anderson of Moorhead, MN, Peggy Hayes of Moorhead, MN; ten grandchildren, Eric, Mike, Molly, Tony, Adam, Andrea, Nate, Brian, Laura and Erin; five great-grandchildren, Bailey, Braylyn, Karina, Julia and Nolan; and his brother, Bruce (Elaine) Anderson of Moline, IL. The family will receive friends at St. John's Lutheran Church: 1900 Wales Road NE, Massillon, Ohio 44646 on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 from 1-3 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday at the church.
