Paul F. Campbell, age 84 of Canton, passed away Friday, December 2, 2011 at Affinity Medical Center. Paul was born on April 10, 1927 in Canton, the son of the late Frank J. and Theresa(Weigand ) Campbell. He graduated from St. Johns High School and attended St. Mary's College, KY, John Carroll and Kent State Universities and graduated from New York Life School of Estate Planning. He served in the United States Army Air Force as a radio operator on a B-17 aircraft in Air/Sea Rescue at Atsugi Army Airbase in Japan WWII. He married Rose Marie Shane on Feb. 5, 1949 and she survives him. He owned Campbell Financial Services for 45 years as a Financial Planner and Retirement Consultant. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc parish since inception. He served as a principle and teacher of CCD, was a lector, cantor, alter server and leader of prayer, served 6 years on Diocesan Parish Council, Youngstown Diocese, and 4 years as parish council president. He was a member of Opus Dei, volunteer ombudsman in nursing homes for 5 years, a precinct committeeman and assistant zoning inspector for Perry Twp. was a volunteer inside auditor for St. Joseph Credit Union, was local union president, John Hancock, Western Southern, and Metropolitan Life Insurance Companies 2 years, previous owner of B&C Cleaning Contractors, and was a member of the American Legion. Paul had a deep love for music and played several instruments. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Paul F. Campbell Jr., Joseph D. Campbell, James R.(April) Campbell, John M. Campbell, Mary Anne Birtalan, Joan E. Campbell, Rosemary (James) Suarez, Paula C. (Randolph) Lovallo, Kathleen M. Plomaritis and Christine M.(Joseph) Braley. 19 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Theresa M. Reda, a grandson, James P. Birtalan and a sister, Mary T. Pachan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church on Monday, December 5, 2011 at 10 a.m., Fr. William Kraynak officiating. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, December 4, 2011 at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
