Modestine "Maude" J. Palumbo

Modestine "Maude" Palumbo 1928-2016 Age 88, of Massillon, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 15, 2016. She was born in Steubenville, Ohio on March 18, 1928 to the late Louis and Christine DiGregory. She married Michael Palumbo in 1951 and they settled in Massillon. Maude was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She volunteered her time at the former St. Joseph's School and Massillon City Hospital, then later worked at Baltzlys Drugs and CVS Pharmacy. In addition to her parents, Maude was preceded in death by her husband Michael in 2008. She is survived by her children, Michelle (Greg) Rajsich, Malia (Jeff) Gerber, and Matt (Beth) Palumbo all of Massillon; grandchildren Dia (Matt) Geis, Mandy Rohr, Gina (Mike) McVetta, Adam Gerber, and Nina Palumbo; great grandchildren, Alex, Jett, Nash and Veda Rohr, Lavinia Geis, and Stella McVetta; brothers Jim and Syl (Millie) DiGregory, sisters Ellie (Larry) Yurkosky, and Rita McBride, and many dear nieces and nephews. There will not be calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 am on Saturday, August 20 at St. Joseph's Church of Massillon at 330 4th St SE. Burial will be at Sunset Hills Memorial Gardens in North Canton. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Suite 201, 70 W Streetsboro St; Hudson OH 44236. The family would like to thank Ella Gajek, Hanover House, and Great Lakes Hospice for their loving care of Maude throughout the years.
