Michael J Moran, 73, passed away peacefully Friday at Woodlawn Compassionate Care Center. Born August 9, 1943, in Culver City, CA, he has resided in Perry Township for 38 years. After graduation from Grover Cleveland High School in 1962, he served six years in the Air National Guard, ending with the rank of sergeant. He worked as bookkeeper for Dorothy Chandler Pavilion and attended Los Angeles School of Art. Michael was part owner of Rabindra Art Gallery in Los Angeles, where he met Barbara, the love of his life, when she answered an ad for gallery retail manager. After moving to Ohio, he worked for Massillon Container (Vail Industries) for over 35 years, applying his love of technology as bookkeeper and IT support. Along with his wife, he founded Moran Interiors in Canton, Ohio in 1987. Michael had a passion for aviation, history, music, and football – the latter which drove him to volunteer as coach for local area football teams. His family and friends were inspired by his unwavering strength, humor, and integrity. He is preceded in death by his brother, Larry. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; children Bryan and Kellyn; grandchildren Zoe and Devon; siblings Kimberly Noye, Kathy Kettlehut, Patty O'Connor (Bob O'Connor), Robin Moran (Oly Kulkin), and Wendy Moran; and step-mom Melanie Moran Bartlett.
