Melissa Kay Mccormick

Melissa Kay McCormick, 28, of Akron, passed away unexpectedly on June 24, 2020. She was born on June 3, 1992 in Parkersburg, West Virginia to Daniel McCormick and Penni Ott. She lived most of her life in Parkersburg and graduated from Parkersburg South High School where she was also a cheerleader. She eventually moved to Canton to be closer to her daughter. Melissa will be remembered as a bright, outgoing and bubbly person. She loved getting her nails and hair done and absolutely loved being a mother. She leaves behind her beautiful children, Mahlaya Frazier and Liam McCormick; father Daniel McCormick; her sister DonnaJo McCormick; grandparents Don and Roberta Ott; and cousin and best friend Randy Parsons. Melissa was preceded in death by her mother, Penni who was her best friend. They are now together again. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 27th from 4-5:30 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home.
