Marilyn Frances Mitchal age 71 of Perry Twp passed away Sunday, December 10, 2006 at Mercy Medical Center. Marilyn was born April 21, 1935 in Canton to the late Rev. Frederick Dancey & Mary Anna (Burns) Barnes, the eighth of eleven children. Marilyn was raised in Canton and retired from Rubbermaid in Wooster. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by sisters: Addell Williams & Myrta Staples; brothers, Owen, Irving & Frederick Barnes. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother who is survived by her husband Clyde R. Mitchal with whom she shared 49 years of marriage on August 24th; son, Rodney P. Mitchal and daughter Karen S. Mitchal of Atlanta, GA.; and step-daughters, Saundra M. Mitchal and Marsha E. Malone of Washington, D.C.; and adopted daughter, Candy Bennett of Columbus; sisters, Faith Beard, Hortense Easter and Milicent Eason of Columbus, Lois Toles of Massillon; brother, Marshall (Anna Elizabeth) Barnes of Columbus; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. A Celebration of Marilyn’s Life will be 1 PM Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at St. James A.M.E. Zion Church in Massillon. The Rev. Michael Tolson will officiate. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from Noon until the service on Wednesday. The family and friends of Marilyn Frances Mitchal acknowledge with appreciation all acts of kindness, prayers, and deeds of love expressed in their time of bereavement.
