Marie Berkesch

Marie Berkesch, 84 of Massillon, died on Saturday at Affinity Medical Center. She was born on July 29, 1924 in Detroit, Michigan and was the daughter of the late John and Lottie (Martin) Bugg. Marie served her country in the U.S. Cost Guard from 1944-1946. She was a church secretary at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Northville, MI. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband George Berkesch, her brother Ralph Bugg and her sister Doris Bugg. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Rev. Dennis (Gail) Berkesch of Nevada, Peggy (Marshall) Wickman of Texas, Rev. Wayne (Mary Ann) Berkesch of Indiana and Rev. Brent (Vanessa) Berkesch of Wisconsin. Also surviving are many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Friday at 11:00 A.M. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Massillon with Rev. John Telloni officiating. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 10-11:00 A.M. A graveside service will take place on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at Glen Eden Memorial in Livonia, MI.
