Linda Shermett Mitchell

Linda S. Mitchell, age 65, surrounded by her three daughters, went home to be with the Lord on October 24, 2013. She was born on September 25, 1948 to the late Earl and Margarine (White) Ivory. She was a 1966 graduate of Washington High School. She married George Mitchell on June 23, 1983. They shared nearly 25 years together until his passing on February 16, 2008. Linda worked at Akron Children's Hospital for many years in the Burn Unit. She was an avid bowler and worked many telethons for Akron Children's Hospital. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Elks Club and was a member of the Eastern Star. Linda had a smile that would light up a room. She will forever be remembered as a loving, kind and generous Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Leslie Boone, Tara Flakes, Tiffany (Frederick) Armstrong and Michelle and Nicole Mitchell; her grandchildren, Charles(Joanna), Reilyn, Devin, Z'Niyah, Laelah, Deanna (Brooks), Shenise, and Devion; seven great-grandchildren; her sisters, Margo Ivory and Bonita Wood; her brother, Earl Scott Ivory; niece, Lisa (Sean) Morse; nephew, Alex (Krista)Wood and a host of family members and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Linda was preceded in death by a daughter, Christie Flakes. A Homegoing Celebration will be held at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at 11:30 A.M. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
