Lawrence Levert Roberson, (affectionately known as L.A.W.) made his transition to be with the Lord Tuesday, December 29, 2020. Lawrence was born in Canton, Ohio on February 6, 1976 to Garrie E. McDaniel and Gary Carter. He attended Canton City Schools and graduated from Central Catholic High School. Lawrence worked for the City of Canton Sanitation Department. He had a passion for all sports from playing football at an early age to playing soft ball. His passion for sports led him to coach the Florida Gators and Bears Midget League teams. He was member of the Canton Renegades Motorcycle Club. Lawrence was baptized and became an ordained minister at the age of 12 at Shiloh Baptist Church. In his younger years he was fortunate to travel the country as a member the gospel group Disciples of Christ (D.O.C) with his mentor Alton Hood. Under the spiritual guidance of the late Pastor Sheldon Brown; he was a devoted member of B.O.L.C.C. where he served as a Children’s Ministry Teacher. Lawrence was a loving and devoted father to his children and truly a family man. A social person by nature, he became a friend to every person he met. He was known for telling many stories – be it fact or fiction - and was able to captivate an audience. He loved to entertain from small family gathering to his end of the summer back yard barbecues. Being around LAW, you were always guaranteed to have a good time, enjoy lots of laughter, and take away tons of memories. Lawrence was proceeded in death by his grandmothers Willie Mae Roberson, Cliffie Graves and Ada Mae Carter. Lawrence leaves to cherish his memory his children Taylor Roberson, Taylor Blackshear, Tyler Thatcher, Trenton Roberson, and Jace Frenz- Roberson; his Mother Garrie McDaniel and Father Gary Carter, Siblings Cliffie (Jamal) Davis, Darrick McDaniel, God- Daughter Joi Thompson, Special Uncle Samuel Roberson, his devoted friend and aide Carlos Gaines, and a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and loved ones. A Home going Celebration will be held on Friday, January 8, 2021 at 12 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday from 11 – 12 p.m. before the service. Those who are unable to attend the service may go to Facebook Live Streaming at 12 p.m. to watch the service. Continuing with COVID-19 precautions, all attending will be asked to follow proper social distancing protocol and masks are also required.
