Karen M. Buttermore, 78, of Massillon, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Akron, Ohio on April 28, 1945, to the late James and Helen (Elsner) Bucey. She was a 1962 graduate of Akron Buchtel High School. She married Orin S. Buttermore Sr. on June 15, 1962 and they shared 58 years until his passing in 2021.
Karen worked as a Nurse for Massillon City Hospital, Dr. Violet, and was the owner of Jay's Pizza until her retirement. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, Legacy Chapter #596 of Order of the Eastern Star and member of the Brewster Moose #1102. She enjoyed slot machines, Keno, family trips to Canada and the beach, fishing, game shows, but most importantly being with and spending time with her family. She was known as kind and caring person and had biggest smile for her little body. She will forever be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Tammy DeHoff, Orin "Jay"(Deanna) Buttermore, Kim (Scott) Woods; her grandchildren Melissa, Krista, Curtis, Tristin, Breanna and Emma; six great-grandchildren
and one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Karen was preceded in death by her brother Robert Bucey.
