Juliet Ernestine (Berens) Paul, 95, went home to be with her Lord on Monday June 9, 2014 in Shady Lawn Nursing Home. She was born in Massillon on April 1, 1919 to Christian and Anna Berens. She was a graduate of Washington High School and played in the Joe Paul Band where she met her husband, Arvine Paul. They were married for 47 years until his passing in 1985. Juliet was a devoted mother and pillar of strength and compassion to her 13 children, 33 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren. Juliet was also preceded in death by her daughter, Judy McDonald Washburn, son, David Paul and sons-in-law, Bill McDonald and Tom Boswell. She is survived by two of her nine siblings, Marianne Corban and Robert Berens, her sons, Dan (Pat) Paul, Darryl (Chris) Paul, Duane (Marcia) Paul, Doug (Terri) Paul, daughters, Jeanne Paul, Joan Boswell, Janice (Mike) Slicker, Joyce (Bob) Mitcheal, Julie (Kelly) Murphy, Jane (Mike) Petcavage and Jeri (Dave) Geisinger, son-in-law, Richard Washburn, all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Juliet loved to sing and play the piano and organ. She sang with the Sweet Adeline's for many years and the church choir at First United Methodist. She was a waitress at Howard Johnsons, Holiday Inn and LuMinkos Restaurants. She worked and volunteered for many years at Massillon Community Hospital. The family would like to give their most heartfelt thanks to Christine, Jane, Jackie, Tim, Tammy, Linda, Desiree, Chris, Sue, Chrissy and the entire staff at Shady Lawn who lovingly cared for Juliet for the last 11 years. Calling hours will be Thursday, June 12, 5 to 8 pm at Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Mark Paul, Juliet's nephew, will officiate the service that will be held at Faith Community Fellowship in Massillon at 10, Friday June 13. Burial will follow at Brookfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
