Judy (Welch) Mattingly

Judy (Welch) Mattingly, age 64 of Massillon, passed away Friday, April 20, 2007, at her residence following a short illness. Judy was born September 4, 1942 in Massillon to the late Jerome & Clara (Malcuit) Welch. A life resident of Massillon she will be remembered for the special time spent with friends, activities she enjoyed with family and the love she shared with all. Judy started working at the family business, the former Welch’s Bakery, and continued working at the Oasis and Alibi Lounges. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Louise Krempel, Betty Morgan, Peggy David, Katie Orzeck, and Rose Marie Berbari. She is survived by three children, Richard Mattingly of Massillon (Marie Soto of Las Vegas), Heidi Ann (Bill Homa) Valentine of North Canton and Cathy Jo (David) Roshong of Massillon; brother and sisters, Jerry (Donna) Welch, Nancy (William) Hammel, Patricia Wise, Suzie (George) Berbari, Jeannie (Larry) Hodgson all of Massillon; grandchildren, Michelle, Michael, Joey, Anthony, and Devin; and many loving nieces and nephews. A celebration and recognition of Judy’s life will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 28, 2007, at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Friends will be received by the family from 12:30 P.M. until the services at the funeral home.
