Jerome “Jay” E. Hudson, age 61 of Massillon went home to be with the Lord on February 04, 2019. He was born in Fort Eustis, Florida on September 24, 1957 to the late Doris Mae Hudson and Jerome Sanders. Jay was a 1975 graduate of Washington High School and was involved with the school television station. Jay as worked as a Broadcaster in radio for many years appearing on stations WTIG 99.0, WZAK 93.1FM, WGAR-1220, MIX AND LITE ROCK 106.5. He also worked as a Mail Carrier for many years. He was an avid Cleveland Sports Fan enjoying the Browns, Cavaliers and the Indians. He was known for a big warm smile, and singing Motown, especially the Temptations and anything by Luther Vandross. He loved good home cooking especially with family at outdoor events, traveling, Salsa, and was a movie buff. Jay touched a lot of people’s lives and will forever be remembered as a devoted and loving brother, uncle, cousin, godfather, and friend. He leaves to cherish his memory his sisters Patricia Ann Hudson, Linda Denise Hudson, Amy Elizabeth Hudson; his goddaughter Breyanna Grizzard; his nephews Terrance Pryor, Trevon Pryor, Tristan Pryor, Terrell Pryor; his niece Lashawn Hudson and his great nephew Tavionne Hudson as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, his grandmother Mamie Hodges; his aunt Josephine Brown and his cousins Wendy and Tracy Brown as well as host aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members. Jay’s Homegoing Celebration will be at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Friday, February 15, 2019 at 11a.m. Elder Jelynn Stinson of Morning Star UHC will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-8p.m. on Thursday, February 14th and 1 hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment will be at Massillon Cemetery. www.paquelet.com
