Janet Martha Berger

Janet M. Berger, 77, of Massillon, went home to be with the Lord, on Thursday, April 27, 2017. She was born on February 17, 1940 to Ralph and Aleda (Owens) Keller. Janet married Robert Berger on May 1, 1960. They shared 56 loving years together. Janet worked in the banking industry for 18 years and retired from Chase Bank. She was a lifelong member of Faith Lutheran Church and was involved with many activities there. Some of her activities at the church included being a Sunday school teacher, helping with vacation bible school, and coordinating the food and clothes drives, especially around Thanksgiving and Christmas time. She also helped coordinate the community math and reading program at the church with her sister, Donna. Not only was Janet involved with helping her church, she also helped her community and others who were in need. Janet’s greatest life lessons to her two children were to always give back and support others in need. Her support for her children was never-failing, especially with their education. Janet will always be remembered for being selfless and compassionate and having a giving nature. She will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Robert; son, Randy (Denise) Berger of Cary, North Carolina and daughter, Karen (Jim) Brown of Albuquerque, New Mexico; two grandsons, Alex Brown and Ben Brown; sister, Donna (Mike) Nicholas; and nieces, Shelly (Terry) Hogan and Denise (John) Birkbeck. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Aleda Keller. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 from 6-8 pm at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home in Massillon. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 11 am at Faith Lutheran Church in Massillon with burial following at Brookfield Cemetery.
