James R. Boland

James R. Boland of North Canton, Ohio and Sarasota, Florida passed away on April 19, 2023 in Sarasota.

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio on May 13, 1937, he was preceded in death by son David J. Boland, son-in-law Dr. Floyd S. Critoria, parents George and Ethel Boland, brother Jack Boland and sister Shirley Carius.

Jim served in the military both in the Army as a tank commander in Korea and in the Air Force Air Rescue Squadron on Guam. He retired from McKnight Trucks. Jim was a member of the North Canton Eagles 2223, Saramana Eagles 4424, VFW, and American Legion.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Paula (Steele), brother-in-law Darrel Steele and daughters Pamela Critoria of Raleigh, NC, Lynette (John) Havelka of Wheaton, IL, and Karen Butusov (Todd Jones) of Uniontown, OH. Also, so special to him were grandchildren Ryan, Megan, Amanda, Erica and Evan. Great-grandchildren, Hailey, Madison, Hayden, Mila, Carson, Carter, Kaylana, Hope, Allison, Mary, Nickolas plus one soon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Church of the Lakes, Canton, OH or Wreaths Across America, Sarasota National Cemetery.
