Ida V. Potter

Ida V. , age 92, passed away Wednesday June 17, 2009 at Meadow Wind Health Care Center, where she resided for the past 16 months. Ida was born May 27, 1917 in Capitignano, Italy to Silvio and Agantha (Fulvimari) Ventura. Ida and her husband Norman operated the City Shoe Hospital for 31 years. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Parish, where she was active in Altar Rosary society, and the Senior Group. She was also a member of the Italian American Club Auxiliary. Ida was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Norman Potter Sr. who passed away in 1997. Also preceding her in death were her parents, two sisters Sandra Sibila and Justina Pelosi, and one brother Rinaldo Ventura. Ida is survived by one daughter Leilani McHenry of Massillon, one son Norman (Joy) Potter of Woodstock, GA, nine grandchildren Karen McHenry, James McHenry, John (Gayle) McHenry, Lisa (Rick) Cammel all of Massillon, Cathy (Russ) Blink of Columbus, David McHenry, Mark McHenry, Vince (Becky) Potter of Massillon, Steve (Stephanie) Potter of N. Canton, 14 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are a special brother-in-law John Sibila of Massillon, two nephews, two nieces. Visitation will be Sunday June 21 from 6-8 P.M. at Paquelet Funeral Home 1100 Wales Rd NE. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary Catholic Church with prayers at the funeral home an hour before the service.
