Hattie M. Tramell

August 19, 1930 — October 12, 2024

Hattie Henry Tramell took her last breath on October 12, 2024, after a long great lived life of 94 years. Her daughter and her grandchildren were by her side all the way to the end.

Hattie was born in Canton, Ohio on August 19, 1930 to the late Frank and Annie Lou Henry. She is also preceded in death by her late husband Charles Tramell. Hattie graduated from McKinley High School, she then furthered her education at Akron University where she attained her degree in social services. She was a social worker for 30 years at Headstart. She was a member of Mt. Calvary 2nd Baptist Church in Canton, Ohio. She also became a foster parent for SAFY. She was the Chaplin for the Canton Negro Old Timers on the ladies auxiliary. Hattie had touched and helped countless lives, she was a pillar to the community, she was the G.O.A.T. (greatest of all times). She held many countless titles and wore many hats, for anyone that knew her looked at her as a Queen. She touched many hearts.

She was the matriarch of the family, the last sibling of her brothers and sisters, Alice Womack, Lettie Fay Henry, Elizabeth Henry, Corrine Henry, Frank (Bumpy) Henry, Francis Henry Snow, Medric Henry, Shirley Henry, and Georgia King.

Hattie was survived by her 1 and only child, Mary Ann Reynolds, who had been taking care of her for the last 8 years. Caring for her, loving her, amazingly and unselfishly. And from Mary Ann, she gave Hattie 7 grandchildren, Cerina Groce, Tanzia (Bobby) Tucker of Newman, GA, Tiffany Reynolds, Teron Reynolds of Louisville KY, Tamijka (Tarice) Sanders, Charles Reynolds III, Corey Reynolds and 29 great-grands and 40 great-great grandchildren, God is GOOD.

Special friends include the late Wylene (Dickey) Tramell and Margret Johnson just to name a few.

Special nieces include Vicky King and Johnetta Williams, who both contributed to countless times of caring and helping with Hattie. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and family.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Mt. Calvary 2nd Baptist Church from 11am to 12pm. A funeral service will begin promptly at 12pm, with burial following at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
