Gene R. Moore

December 25, 1931 — June 23, 2010

Gene R. Moore, 78 of Perry Township, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2010 after a long illness of Alzheimer’s disease at the Allay Senior Care Center. He was born December 25, 1931 in Killbuck, Ohio to the late Kenneth W. and Mary (Seigel) Moore. Gene was a 1950 graduate of Killbuck High School and served four years in the United States Air Force. He was a skilled automobile mechanic for Remlinger’s Cadillac Dealership. In 1985, he went into business with his son, Mark, at M&M Auto in Perry Township. His passions were vintage cars and flying; if a friend had a problem with their car, they could count on Gene. A social gentleman, who took delight in spending time with family and friends; especially around the dinner table. He will be remembered for his gentle-nature and warm smile. When the weekend permitted, he loved going to the farm with his brothers to hunt and fish. In addition to his parents, a brother, Harold Moore, preceded him in death. Gene is survived by his wife, Adele (Berbari) Moore with whom he shared 51 years of marriage on October 4th. They have four children with spouses, Ginamarie (John) Miller and Mark Moore, all of Perry Township, Lisa (Chip) Hanson of Marietta, GA. and Dianna (David) Vredenburgh of Boston, MA; 10 grandchildren, McKenzie, Mikayla and Jonathan Miller, Steven and Madison Moore, Chad and Olivia Hanson and Eva, Maxwell and Henry Vredenburgh; sister and three brothers, Betty (Jerald) Boyd, Kenneth W. (Jerrilee) Moore, Larry (Marlene) Moore and Marlin (Barbara) Moore. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 A. M. Monday at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. His final resting place will be St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 6-9 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. The family would appreciate contributions to the St. Joan of Arc School Fund. A heartfelt ‘thank you’ is offered to the caring staff at Allay Senior Care Center and Harbor Light Hospice.
