Gary Zimmerman

Gary Zimmerman, 84, of Avon Park, passed away on November 10, 2022.

He was born July 21, 1938 in Fostoria, Ohio, the son of the late Edgar W. and Helen T. (Zender) Zimmerman.

Gary is survived by his wife of 62 years, Karen (Huth) Zimmerman; children, Lori Williams, Amy Hagen and Richard (Monica) Zimmerman; grandchildren, Derek (Maria), Andrew (Nicole), Ryan (Teah), Emily, Elyssa and Jacob; five great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters; and brothers, Sheridan (Clara) Zimmerman and Robert (Dea Jo) Zimmerman.

Gary was known for his sense of humor; he always knew how to make someone laugh. He spent most of his life working for CSX Railroad and loved spending time with his family. In addition to that, he enjoyed the outdoors; activities like boating and fishing were some of his favorites. Gary also enjoyed carpentry, crossword puzzles, and reading. He was a 30 year long AA member, and spent a lot of that time mentoring teens and young adults.

There will be no services held at this time for Gary Zimmerman.
