Frank C. Shaulis, Jr.

Frank C. Shaulis, Jr., (Janowicz) age 84 of Barnesville, Heights. PA passed away on Monday, March 23, 2015. He was born on January 6, 1931 in Shenadoah Heights and was the son of the late Frank C., Sr. and Anna (Francis) Shaulis. Frank was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict as an interrogator and an interpreter. An accomplished man, he graduated from Bucknell University, he also studied at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY, Army Language School in Monterey, CA, the University of Edinurgh in Scotland and earned his Master's in Russian Language and Literature at The Ohio State University. He also took graduate courses at Yale and Harvard Universities. He then went on to instruct at The Ohio State University, Ohio Northern University and Allentown (PA) College. His memberships included, Phi Eta Sigma Fraternity, the Modern Language Association, the American Association of Teachers of East European Languages and the American Association of University Professors. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Louis G. Shaulis, Phd. and infant sister Audray Camille. He is survived by his brother, Thomas W. Shaulis and his wife Helene, his sister, Margaret Ann "Peg" Janowicz and her husband Frank, his nephews, Thomas Mark Shaulis, Fran (Amy) Janowicz, Greg (Karen) Janowicz and Glenn (Joyce) Janowicz and niece Kim (Brian) Jones and 8 great nieces and great nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Friday from 8:30-9:30 A.M.
