Emma Jean Williams

Emma Jean Williams, 86, of Columbus, formerly of Massillon, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021. Emma was born on May 17, 1934, in Booneville, MS the daughter of the late Mitchell and Adlena (McGhee) Miller. Emma retired from the O.S.U. where she was the cafeteria manager for over 20 years. Emma enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved to travel, especially to Las Vegas. She owned her own restaurant at one time. Emma was a professional singer and had a love for music. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her children, Geraldine Williams, John Williams, and Arden Craig Williams; and siblings, Erie Spencer, Marie Kelly, Eugene Miller, James Miller, Otis Miller, and Lula Grizzard. She is survived by her children, Jacqueline Moore, T. Michael (Barbara) Williams, and Vicki Williams; grandchildren, Reginald (Dyshaune) Moore, Ibon (Lari) Williams, Rahman Wiliams, Wesley (Jovonni) Moore, Kevin Williams, Michael Simpson, Terra (Suney) Milhoan, Myron Williams, and Marcus Williams; 12 great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchild, Cairo Burgess; brother, JC Miller; and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins, and friends. A special acknowledgment to Charles Rowland and Sherrene Moore for their kindness and compassion. A Homegoing Celebration will be held on Monday, March 1, 2021, at 12 p.m. (Noon) at Morning Star Holiness Church in Massillon. Burial will follow at Massillon Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. before the service.
