Edward J. Piaskowski, 77, of Jackson Twp., passed away Thursday, August 7, 2014. Edward was born on April 6, 1937 in Shenandoah, PA, the son of Enoch and Nellie (Borcufsky) Piaskowski. He was a devout Catholic. Ed retired from Babcock & Wilcox where he was an engineer for over 40 years and received the 'Engineering Honors Award'. Ed enjoyed playing clarinet and saxophone in many different bands in Pennsylvania and Ohio. He was a member of the Ohio & National Taxidermists Associations, won Best in World Whitetail Deer 2009. Some of his hobbies included: taxidermy, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Tommy Piaskowski. He is survived by his wife of 56 years of marriage, Rosemary 'Sandy' Piaskowski; his children and their spouses, Ed (fiancée Lena Swearengin) Piaskowski, Michelle (Mike) LaRocca, and Ron (Loretta Gnau) Piaskowski; his grandchildren, Nicole LaRocca, Gina LaRocca, Joe (Kristina) Piaskowski, Abby (fiancé Andrew Kochan) Piaskowski, Dan, Jane, Mary, John, Tommy, Maggie, Anne, and Katie Piaskowski; his sister, Alice Ganis; and his brother, John Piaskowski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 11 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Fr. Raymond Paul will be Officiating. Friends may gather at the church from 10-11 A.M.
